Walking between malls; arrive by BTS
BTS Phrom Phong brings you directly into the district and is the easiest way to arrive.
The EM District is huge. Focus on the highlights you enjoy rather than trying to visit every floor.
Even though most of the route is indoors, you’ll move between several buildings, terraces and levels.
Much of the route is indoors, but terraces and some connections are exposed to the weather. Skip outdoor areas during heavy rain and continue inside.
Start your EM District evening at Emporium, one of Sukhumvit’s long-established premium shopping destinations, located directly beside BTS Phrom Phong.
Take a short walk through the mall to get a feel for the polished, cosmopolitan side of modern Bangkok before continuing across the district.
Opened in 1997, Emporium helped establish Phrom Phong as one of Bangkok’s major upscale shopping and lifestyle districts.
Today, it forms part of the larger EM District together with EmQuartier and EMSPHERE.
Emporium represents an earlier generation of Bangkok’s luxury retail scene and provides an interesting contrast with the newer architecture and lifestyle spaces you’ll see later in the route.

The transition toward EmQuartier across the district
You don’t need to explore every floor. Spend a little time browsing, then continue toward EmQuartier — where the architecture and outdoor spaces become part of the experience.
Continue across to EmQuartier, where shopping meets striking architecture, greenery and open-air spaces. Instead of simply browsing stores, take time to look around — the building itself is part of the experience.
Opened in 2015, EmQuartier expanded Phrom Phong into a larger lifestyle district, bringing a more contemporary approach to shopping with architecture, landscaping and outdoor spaces woven into the complex.
EmQuartier feels very different from a traditional shopping mall. Curved buildings, planted terraces and open spaces create a more vertical, outdoor-oriented experience in the middle of Sukhumvit.

You don’t need to explore every floor. Focus on the architecture and greenery, then gradually make your way upward toward the Helix and Sky Garden — the highlight comes next.
Make your way upward through EmQuartier toward the Helix and Sky Garden, where the shopping complex opens into landscaped terraces with elevated views across Sukhumvit.
This is where EmQuartier’s architecture becomes most distinctive. The curved structure, greenery and open-air terraces create a refreshing break from the indoor shopping areas — with Bangkok’s skyline appearing between the buildings.

Follow the current mall signs to the public garden and dining areas. Access to outdoor terraces may vary with weather or events.
Continue to EMSPHERE, the newest part of the EM District. The atmosphere changes noticeably here — from EmQuartier’s greenery and elegant architecture to a younger, more energetic mix of food, shopping and entertainment.
EMSPHERE completes the EM District alongside Emporium and EmQuartier, bringing another mix of dining, shopping, events and entertainment to Phrom Phong.
EMSPHERE represents a newer side of Bangkok’s lifestyle scene. Rather than focusing only on traditional shopping, the complex brings together restaurants, entertainment, events and contemporary retail in a more casual, energetic setting.
