Mostly Walking
BACC Is Closed on Mondays
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre is normally closed on Mondays, so Tuesday–Sunday is the best time for this plan.
Don’t Rush the First Stop. Jim Thompson House opens at 10:00. Allow enough time to explore the museum, architecture and garden before moving on.
Siam Is Best Explored on Foot. Most of this plan is walkable, but you’ll spend plenty of time on your feet between museums, streets and shopping areas.
Save Your Appetite. Siam Square is full of tempting cafés and snacks, but Siam Paragon is our main food stop. Grab something small if you’re hungry and save room for lunch.
Every Visit Can Be Different. BACC exhibitions change throughout the year. Check the current program and explore only what interests you — there’s no need to see every floor.
Leave Extra Time. SEA LIFE is optional, but if you add it after lunch, expect your plan to continue well into the afternoon.
Discover Thai Culture & Design
Begin your Siam journey somewhere unexpected — inside a peaceful collection of traditional Thai houses surrounded by a tropical garden.
The Man Behind Thai Silk
Jim Thompson was an American entrepreneur who played an important role in bringing Thai silk to international attention after World War II.
His Bangkok home became a collection of traditional Thai architecture, art and antiques — and today tells both the story of Thai design and Thompson’s mysterious disappearance.
Thai Houses · Silk · Art · Tropical Garden
Notice how traditional wooden houses, elevated floors, open spaces and tropical surroundings come together to create a very different atmosphere from modern Siam just outside.
Enjoy the Contrast
This stop sets up the story of the day.
You’ll begin with traditional Thai design, then move into contemporary art at BACC and finally into the energy of modern Siam.
Guided Visit
The main house is visited on a guided tour. Allow time for the next available tour and the walk to BACC afterwards. Check current admission prices before visiting.

Discover Contemporary Bangkok
Step from traditional Thai design into Bangkok’s contemporary creative scene.
BACC brings together changing exhibitions, photography, design and creative spaces — so every visit can feel a little different.
Art · Photography · Design · Culture
Exhibitions change throughout the year. Check what’s happening when you visit and explore whatever catches your interest.
There’s No Need to See Everything
You don’t need to visit every floor or every exhibition. Wander through the building, stop where something interests you and enjoy the space at your own pace.
Art Beyond the Exhibitions
The building itself is part of the experience — with its curved interior walkways, open central space, small creative shops and cafés along the way.
Closed on Mondays
Open Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00 AM–8:00 PM; closed on Mondays and during specified New Year and Songkran holidays. General exhibition entry is free, but special events may have separate charges. Check the current program before visiting.
